Master’s degree programmes in Physiotherapy

Please note: all master’s programmes at SOMT are taught in Dutch. A sufficient level of Dutch language proficiency is therefore required to participate in the programme and clinical components.

At SOMT University of Physiotherapy, we educate physiotherapists to become specialists in human movement through our master’s degree programmes. Double Master’s degree in Physiotherapy

Did you know that you can combine your master’s programme with a second master’s degree at SOMT? Within four years, you can obtain two Master of Science degrees and develop into a clinical expert with both broad and in-depth expertise in treating complex musculoskeletal conditions.

Postgraduate specialisation

  • Postgraduate Pelvic Rehabilitation – a two-year programme for physiotherapy graduates from Belgium who wish to specialise in treating patients with health problems in the pelvic region.

Professional development for physiotherapists

The master’s programmes are designed for physiotherapists who want to further deepen and develop within the field of physiotherapy. Whether you are already working in clinical practice or wish to continue studying directly after your bachelor’s degree, these programmes allow you to specialise in analysing and treating health problems from a biopsychosocial perspective on health and disease.

You will study within a continuously evolving context shaped by scientific, societal, and technological developments. Through innovative, competency-based and practice-oriented education, you will develop a high level of rational, evidence-based clinical reasoning and clinical decision-making skills.

Throughout the programme, you will be guided by lecturers with academic backgrounds and extensive clinical experience.

NVAO-accredited master’s programmes

After completing a master’s programme, you will receive a diploma awarding the degree Master of Science (MSc) in Physiotherapy. All programmes at SOMT University of Physiotherapy are accredited by the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO).
