Our interdisciplinary knowledge and expertise is increasing, leading to new developments within healthcare. ‘Blended Care’ is on the rise, an interdisciplinary form of collaboration between healthcare professionals to ensure the best care.

This new trend also translates to developments within physical therapy. The importance of medical knowledge, interdisciplinary cooperation between first- and second-line care, and academic and scientific skills is increasing. As a physical therapist, you will soon no longer be in the first line, but can position yourself as the one and a half line healthcare professional. Within this new position are several specializations that until now have not been included in the physical therapy curriculum. From the principles of Pharmacology to Lifestyle support, these Topics provide every student with the medical knowledge to prepare for the physical therapy of the future.
